Recognising Signs of Mineral Dysregulation

Minerals are the foundational relational aspect of our body. They work together in relationship to continually find balance.

Throughout our lives, we as woman may gradually lose essential minerals and experience mineral dysregulation due to various factors such as stress, life events, trauma, childbirth, lifestyle decisions, dietary limitations, and depletion over time.

Through my own lived experiences of stress, trauma and living with a dysregulated nervous system for many years I found myself severely depleted in some of the vital minerals and electrolytes my body needed to maintain balance and function optimally.

This manifests in many ways ranging from anxiety, depression, mood swings, hormonal issues, cycle challenges, poor digestion, sleep challenges, and lack of energy and vitality. The journey of remineralising my body has been a steady process of re-nourishing my body to fill up every cell with all that had been lost through all it has endured from the stressors of life.

There are many factors that play a role in the dysregulation of mineral balance.

Mineral imbalances in women can arise from various factors, leading to disruptions in the levels or ratios of essential minerals in the body.

There are many causes that can lead to a mineral imbalance and mineral dysregulation in women, one of them being a shift in hormones.

Hormonal changes and fluctuations in hormone levels during menstruation, pregnancy, or menopause can impact mineral absorption, utilisation, and excretion. For instance, estrogen and progesterone fluctuations might affect how the body handles minerals like calcium and magnesium.

We as women, can lose blood and important minerals like iron, during menstruation. Heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding without adequate replenishment through diet or supplementation can lead to iron deficiency or imbalance.

Women's bodies have increased mineral demands during pregnancy and breastfeeding to support the growing fetus or infant. Inadequate intake or depletion of minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium during this period can lead to imbalances or deficiencies.

As women age, changes in hormone levels and reduced absorption efficiency can lead to mineral imbalances. Postmenopausal women, for example, might experience changes in bone health due to declining estrogen levels affecting calcium balance.

Birth control methods and some other contraceptive methods, particularly those containing hormones, might affect the body's mineral metabolism. For instance, certain birth control pills can influence levels of magnesium, zinc, or other minerals in some women.

Chronic stress can impact mineral levels in the body by altering digestion and absorption. Unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as poor diet, excessive alcohol consumption, or smoking, can also contribute to mineral imbalances.

Digestive Disorders and conditions like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn's disease, or celiac disease can affect the absorption of minerals, leading to imbalances despite adequate intake.

The Nervous System

The female body undergoes a multitude of stressors, including hormonal fluctuations throughout life's seasons, menstruation, ovulation, childbirth, and delivery.

All these experiences can be a stress upon our delicate inner world.

Our hormonal composition naturally follows cyclical patterns and thrives with support in this regard. However, the rapid pace of modern life neglects the inherent cyclical nature of feminine seasonal womanhood, imposing significant stress on women's physiology as a result.

In my practice, I witness the profound impact of these factors on women's bodies, hormones, and nervous systems. Many women find themselves in prolonged states of dysregulation as they strive to meet life's relentless demands, leading to eventual depletion of energy, vitality, and emotional equilibrium.

Listen to Your Body's Messages

Our body's equilibrium relies significantly on a delicate balance of minerals. When this balance is disrupted, it can manifest through various signs and symptoms, signaling potential mineral dysregulation. This may look like:

  • Feeling fatigue, having low energy, being persistently tired, sluggish, or experiencing a lack of vitality might indicate deficiencies in essential minerals crucial for energy production

  • Unexplained muscle cramps, spasms, or restless legs could be linked to deficiencies.

  • Fragile, brittle hair and nails might suggest a lack of minerals essential for healthy hair and nail growth.

  • Fluctuations in mood, heightened anxiety, or even depression might be associated with imbalances in minerals.

  • Persistent digestive issues, including constipation, diarrhea, or nutrient malabsorption, can sometimes be linked to mineral imbalances.

  • Skin issues like dryness, eczema, or acne may indicate deficiencies in minerals essential for skin health.

  • Hormonal Imbalances: Irregular menstrual cycles, PMS symptoms, or other hormonal imbalances might be connected to inadequate levels of certain minerals

Recognising these signs is the first step in addressing potential mineral dysregulation.

Minerals are the silent guardians of balance, quietly ensuring that the symphony of our bodily functions plays out harmoniously. Minerals help keep the pH balance of the body just right and act as co-factors for thousands of enzyme reactions for every system in the body.

Minerals are vital for all muscle relaxation and contraction and without minerals, nutrients aren't able to get in or out of cell membranes and are responsible for bone density and energy levels meaning a mineral depletion is going to affect your physically and not just on a cellular level. They are essential for proper nerve conduction, ensuring that these messages travel quickly and accurately.

Our nervous system is a superhighway of information, constantly sending signals back and forth.

Minerals are essential for proper nerve conduction, ensuring that these messages travel quickly and accurately.

Renourishing the body with the essential minerals it needs, creates a soft exhale back into a rested state within the nervous system. A space of safety is cultivated within as the body is receiving all it needs to feel calm, balanced, restored and relaxed.

This can often feel like a welcome home coming for women as they nourish themselves in this way

My life's mission is devoted to assisting women through the Root Cause Protocol (RCP), journeying with women embarking on a sacred voyage of releasing emotional and physical burdens, clearing the pathways for increased vitality within her inner sanctuary.

The Embodied Woman presents a six-month Group Mentorship commencing on February 28th, 2024, focusing on Cellular Healing, Feminine Restoration, and Metabolic Living.

Throughout this journey, participants will delve into the Root Cause Protocol (RCP) and undergo individual hair analysis tests (HTMA), with personalised results meticulously examined in private sessions.
